I Don’t Know Why
Views: 72
“I don’t know why Jesus loved me.
I don’t know why He cared.
I don’t know why He sacrificed His life.
Oh, but I’m glad, I’m glad He did.
Where would I be if Jesus didn’t love me?
Where would I be if Jesus didn’t care?
Where would I be if He hadn’t sacrificed His life?
Oh, but I’m glad, I’m glad He did.
So glad He did.
He left His mighty throne in glory.
To bring to us redemption’s story.
Then He died and He rose again.
Just for you and me.
Oh, but I’m glad, I’m glad He did.
He left His mighty throne in glory.
To bring to us redemption’s story.
Then He died and He rose again.
Just for you and me.
Oh, but I’m glad, I’m glad He did.
I don’t know why Jesus loved me.
No, I don’t know why.
No, I don’t know why He cared.
No, I don’t know why.
He would sacrifice His life.
Oh, but I’m glad,
Oh, I’m so glad.
Thank you, Jesus.
I’m so glad.
I’m glad He did.
So glad He did.”
During prayer this morning, I was given this classic, by the late Andrae Crouch, to share.
I don’t know what you are going through right now, but this just comes to remind you that someone cared enough to give His life for you and me.
Human beings may, reject, ridicule, despise, disrespect and even write you off. But Jesus has not, and would not!
Just look at the following
- He did not send the woman with the12 years issue of blood away (Luke 8:43-48),
- He touched and healed the leper (Matthew 8:1-4)
- He did not despise the Samaritan woman with 5 husbands (John 4:1-42)
- He healed the 2 violent madmen of Gadara (Matthew 8:28-34)
- He did not condemn the woman caught in adultery (John 8:2-11)
- He forgave the sins of the paralyzed man (Mark 2:1-12)
- He raised 4 days dead Lazarus from the dead (John 11:28-34)
- He ate with sinners (Mark 2:13-17)
- He allowed sinful people to touch Him, and He loved and defended them (Luke 7:36-47)
He did many more things that were not recorded (John 20:30) and many other things which if they should all be written, the world itself could not contain the books that would be written(John 21:25)!
This Jesus, of whom it was prophesized in Isaiah 53:4-6,
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was woundedfor our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripeswe are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
This Jesus loves you, and invites you to bring all your troubles to Him.
MEMORY VERSE
“ Surely He has borne our griefs; and carried our sorrows
.” (Isaiah 53:4)
QUESTIONS
1. Are you feeling down, rejected, betrayed and unloved?
2. Do you know Jesus loves you whatever your state; and whatever humans do, say or think?
Why not sing “I don’t know why” and “The Blood (Will never lose its Power)” with me. I tried to dig up the originals.
