I remember the first time I saw a strand of grey in my hair. I quickly cut it off! But then more came. I kept eliminating them. At a point, I started pulling them out so they would be eliminated with their roots. But then I saw more in my beard, nose, eyebrow and other places. I could not keep pace in removing them anymore! It was a lost battle, an exercise in futility.

My body was simply giving me a message: telling me that there are certain things you can never change, and growing old is one of them. This is what the preacher wrote:

📌 “Vanity a of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”
What profit has a man from all his labor In which he toils under the sun?
One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever.📌

So, that is just how it is. You either waste your time fighting it, or flow with it and make the best of it.

Ageing and death are things you can never change. There are many prescriptions for good health and longevity but age ultimately catches up. The more you think about it, the more depressed you become. The preacher summarized it this way:

📌 “For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”📌

So, that is just how it is.

As we enter 2023, choose your battles well. The one I have chosen is to look back later and say,

“I have lived well.”

Live well in 2023!

📍 HAPPY NEW YEAR.🍾📍
