I just read some emails I wrote back in 2002. But for the fact that they are in my mail records and I still know the people I wrote them to, I would have had serious difficulties accepting that I wrote them.

In one of those emails, I was discussing going out to buy ice cream with a lady friend, who was visiting town. We might have gone to buy the ice cream, but I don’t remember the event, the time and the place we visited.

But the fact that I thought of, or did something like that, brought smiles to my face.

Every moment in life presents an opportunity to write history, and the best histories we write are those laced with thoughtfulness and care.

What emails, texts, SMSs, or handwritten notes are you sending today? How would you feel if you see the same 18 years from now? Would you feel good about them, or would you say,

“Gosh! Did write that? Did I really do that?”

Each day, hour, minute and second presents an opportunity to leave footprints in people’s lives.

What footprints are you leaving?

Bible gives us some clues on how to live in order to leave memorable footprints wherever we go, and whoever we interact with.

READ Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brethren,

whatever things are true,

whatever things are noble,

whatever things are just,

whatever things are pure,

whatever things are lovely,

whatever things are of good report,

if there is any virtue

and if there is anything praiseworthy

β€”meditate on these things.”

(Philippians 4:8 NKJV)

The letter to the Philippians, believed to have been written when Paul was in prison in Rome (ca. AD 62) was meant to encourage the Philippians to live as citizens of heaven, and grow in their commitment to serve God, and to love one another. In the letter, it was pointed out that Jesus is the supreme example of this way of life; which Paul, Timothy and Epaphroditus tried to emulate;  and encouraged the Philippians to emulate as well.

So when we see, “Finally….”, then we are about to hear the conclusion of the matter. And the conclusion was that, when we meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy before God, and of good report; then we get progressively close to living like citizens of heaven!

Jesus said.

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

Your thoughts always give birth to your actions. What do you think about?

β€”meditate on these things.

MEMORY VERSE

“If there is any virtue…meditate on these things.”(Philippians 4:8)
