The mouth of a baby bird is always wide open when it’s mother arrives at the nest with food, because it knows it will get filled. Everything in nature has a corresponding lesson for our lives. So what has opening the mouth wide got to do with me? The answer is found in Psalm 81:10.

For it was I, the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.
(Psalms 81:10 NLT)

What does God mean by opening your mouth wide? He means we should confess His word and He will make it happen through us. The greater the promises we are willing to confess the bigger the miracles we will see.

A typical example in the Bible is the story of the battle between David and Goliath. That match was biased from the start, David was only 5 feet tall whilst Goliath was about 9 feet tall. However David opened his mouth wide.

READ 1 Samuel 17:45-46

David replied to the Philistine,
“You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.  Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!”
(1 Samuel 17:45-46 NLT)

David did not even have a sword when he made this statement but his faith was strong in the Lord’s ability to give Him victory.

What giants are you facing, is it  job losses, financial, marital, career, ministry or academic problems. It is time to open up and speak to it. Similar to David, you can also pray and say,

“Job loss, you have defied the army of the Lord of Host. I destroy your power over my life and I receive my next job as an/a  <PUT THE JOB YOU WANT HERE>  in the Name of Jesus . I thank you Lord that it is done in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Please fill it in with the exact job you want, so you can know that it is God answering your prayers when you get the job. You can also pray a similar prayer into other situations you want God to give you victory in.

At the end of the battle every word David spoke happened.

MEMORY VERSE

For it was I, the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.
(Psalms 81:10)

URGENT CALL

By nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God. We ultimately face the wrath of God!

But God in His mercy and love gives us a chance to reverse this trend, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God!
