Speak The Plan
Views: 38
The ant is known as the master planner in creation. So the Bible tells us to learn from the ant.
Be like the ant and see her ways and learn, for there is no harvest for her. And there is no ruler over her, neither anyone to drive her. And she prepares for herself her bread from the summer and she stores her food at harvest. (Proverbs 6:6-8 Aramaic Bible in Plain English)
They are commended for being self-motivated, planning what they want and working hard to make it happen at the right time.
The purpose of planning is to decide on the end result and think it through to be able to organize your ideas and the resources needed, and put them in the right order.
For example the ant knows not to gather food in winter because during that time conditions are tough and the weather is cold enough to kill them. So in winter they rest, enjoy the fruit of their labour and prepare for the next summer. A plan helps to identify which tasks need to be done in order for the rest to go smoothly.
David “spoke victory,” and “spoke with authority”, but David also planned and prepared.
READ 1 Samuel 17:38-40
Then Saul gave David his own armor—a bronze helmet and a coat of mail. David put it on, strapped the sword over it, and took a step or two to see what it was like, for he had never worn such things before.
“I can’t go in these,” he protested to Saul. “I’m not used to them.”
So David took them off again. He picked up five smooth stones from a stream and put them into his shepherd’s bag. Then, armed only with his shepherd’s staff and sling, he started across the valley to fight the Philistine.
(1 Samuel 17:38-40 NLT)
When David decided to fight Goliath, he had two choices: either to go with Samuel’s resources, or the ones God had gifted him – his sling plan, five smooth stones, and his shepherds staff. He chose to use his gift and greatest strength. Rather than use Saul’s armour, which would have been a hindrance to him. In planning, the first thing David did was to look within, and identify God’s gifts in his life, that he could use for the task ahead. God has given gifts to everyone (Romans 12:6, 1 Peter 4:10), and He expects us to plan based on our gifts.
Then take the plan to your Father in prayer. Speak the plan to Him, and recount His promises and faithfulness, over the plan. David had been rehearsing his plan whilst tending sheep, and was able to use it when the opportunity came; but went in the name of the name of the LORD Almighty!
Make a plan and open your mouth to speak the promises of God over your plan and it will come to pass.
MEMORY VERSE
Commit your actions to the Lord , and your plans will succeed.
(Proverbs 16:3)
