Faith to Move
Views: 37
Faith is an action which is based on the word we are hearing from God. God is always speaking to us both internally through the thoughts the Holy Spirit gives us and in external ways through people, His word and things around us.
The greatest plan we make is not as powerful as the plan which God tells us to follow. Our plans are usually based on our personal comfort and present situation. But God’s plan is based on leaving a legacy for the future.
The fantastic thing about God is that the tasks which He gives us may look small in the eyes of men but it has the ability to bring great results. (1 Corinthians 1:27)
David probably had dreams of being a king and doing great things for God, however he had to start by being a shepherd. This was a role that was considered the lowest job in the country. When Samuel came looking for a king, David’s family did not even consider bringing him in as an option. He was in the field, and totally forgotten.
READ 1 Samuel 16:11-13
Then Samuel asked,
“Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.”
“Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.”.So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the LORD said,
“This is the one; anoint him.”
So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.
(1 Samuel 16:11-13 NLT)
God refused to take any of the other brothers offered to Him because David had not despised the small beginnings. He had executed his job as a shepherd with excellence.
Are you asking God to own a company, how do you behave as an employee. Are you asking to buy your own house, how are you treating the rented house. Do you treat it like your own? Are you asking God for a ministry, how do you treat your spouse and children?
When we ask God for leadership, He will first ask us to serve. It is only by listening to Him, that we will not miss the initial step He will tell us to take which will make everything work for us. Failing to go through the listening step will cause us to move at the wrong time and/or in the wrong direction.
After we have done our part by “speaking victory”, “speaking with authority” and “speaking the plan” the next step is to listen to God for any corrections to the plan (Proverbs 16).
This is what gives the faith, and confidence, to move. Don’t go alone. Go with God.
MEMORY VERSE
We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go.
(Proverbs 16:9)

Father, I thank You for how far you have brought me this year. Please help me as I make my current and future plans to listen for the things which You want me to do. URGENT CALL
By nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God. We ultimately face the wrath of God!
But God in His mercy and love gives us a chance to reverse this trend, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God!
Do you want to make that decision today?
