A Touch of Faith

Another exemplary demonstration of faith is the woman who was bleeding for 12 years. Let us read it in Mark 5: 25 – 34
I am not a woman, neither have I lost that much blood before, but I can picture what someone who has been bleeding non-stop for just one year would look, and smell like! Probably emaciated and frail, and with odor that was not desirable in any crowd. The woman in the text above had been bleeding for twelve good years! She had suffered from the hands of many doctors and had run out of funds (vv.26). We can only imagine all the things she suffered. But that was not the only problem this woman had: she was ritually unclean by Jewish law (Leviticus 15:25), which sentences her to isolation. She could not, just like normal people, go to Jesus and ask for healing!
But she told herself,
"I don't need to talk to Jesus. I don't need to even see his face. I just need to touch His clothes."
She got up, groped through the crowds, and touched Jesus’s clothes from the behind. The Bible account said,
Jesus felt it, and earnestly looked for her. When she finally came forward, trembling with fear, He told her;
I believe the woman might have been reading Zechariah 8:23.
But the remarkable thing is this:
Jesus is so sensitive to faith that He senses it without seeing you or speaking to you.
The woman defied disease, abuse, rejection, ridicule, poverty and embarrassment, to touch Jesus’s clothes, and was healed.
What price are we willing to pay to demonstrate our faith?

QUESTIONS
- Have you been very desperate, trying all things to get Jesus’ attention?
- Do you know that having faith would rather make Him search for you, till He finds you?
PRAYER TIP
Father, please help me to have faith, instead of searching and trying to catch Your attention.
URGENT CALL
Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!
God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
