I have often seen people who say they are saved, but move from prophet to prophet; often for deliverance from some “evil forces,” or seeking solutions to all kinds of problems. But those that fascinate me most are those that have what they call their “Regular Church,” which they attend on Sunday and where they accepted Jesus Christ and were baptized; but still have a prophet they consult on the side, and whose church they sometimes attend throughout the week.

Because of this phenomenon and the associated aura of power, fame and fortune the prophets wield, there is now a proliferation of fellowships — most of them with foretelling prophets whose doctrine has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. Foretelling prophets basically predict the future. Forthtelling prophets speak the mind of God.

The question is,

“Is Jesus being in our lives, not enough?”

This is what Paul wrote about Jesus.

“He existed before anything else,

and he holds all creation together.

Christ is also the head of the church,

    which is his body.

He is the beginning,

supreme over all who rise from the dead.

So he is first in everything.”

(Colossians 1:17-18 NLT)

He is the first in everything!” If you have the first in everything on your side, what else do you need?

Jesus Himself said,

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 14:6)

When Jesus said, “It is finished” it was indeed finished! There was nothing more to be done, especially by men! He did all.

Anytime I think of the power I have in Jesus, I break out in this classic from the late Andrae Crouch entitled, “The Blood that Jesus shed for me,” or “The blood will never lose its power.”  The lyrics are:

The blood that Jesus shed for me

Way back on Calvary

The blood that gives me strength

From day to day

It will never lose its power

It reaches to the highest mountain

It flows to the lowest valley

The blood that gives me strength

From day to day

It will never lose its power

——————————————————–

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears

And it dries all my tears

The blood that gives me strength

From day to day

It will never lose its power

It reaches to the highest mountain

It flows to the lowest valley

The blood that gives me strength

From day to day

It will never lose its power

I think the power of Jesus is misunderstood; but for me, He is more than enough!

MEMORY VERSE

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 14:6)

QUESTIONS

Where have you been looking for solutions?

Is Jesus not enough for you?

PRAYER TIP

Father, please open our eyes
to see the power we have
in Jesus
if only we will
trust and obey.

TODAY IN HISTORY

After Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, events were recorded for each day leading to His death and resurrection. The week is referred to as Passion Week, or Holy Week.

In “Today in History” we go on that journey with Jesus, stating what happened on each day, and the scriptural references.

Please come on the journey with us.

WEDNESDAY

On the Wednesday following his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus:

  • Dined in the house of Simon the Leper in Bethany
  • Was anointed by Mary, sister of Martha and Lazarus (Matthew 26:6-13, Mark 14:3-9)

URGENT CALL

Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!

God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!

Do you want to make that decision today?

Please visit “The Believer’s Prayer
for guidance if you want
to make that decision.

Then develop your new relationship
with God through your Quiet Time.

Then find a Bible-Believing Church
where you can Fellowship with like
minded people.

We will be happy to hear from you through the contact information on that page, or the ones at the top of this page. Don’t delay. Make this very personal decision today!

God richly bless you

Another one that talks about praising whether times are good or bad. I think the desire to know and avoid evil and challenging times is what drives most to prophets. Some are genuine but like you have said others may not be in the right spirit. This is:
