I could not help but notice how quick people were to incite others to hatred and violence in the New Testament. Jesus himself suffered from such.

In Mark 15:11-15, we read:

But at this point the leading priests stirred up the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas instead of Jesus.Pilate asked them, “Then what should I do with this man you call the king of the Jews?”They shouted back, “Crucify him!”“Why?” Pilate demanded. “What crime has he committed?” But the mob roared even louder, “Crucify him!”So to pacify the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified.

Stephen also suffered the same fate. In Acts 6:11-14 we read:

So they persuaded some men to lie about Stephen, saying, “We heard him blaspheme Moses, and even God.”This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Stephen and brought him before the high council. The lying witnesses said, “This man is always speaking against the holy Temple and against the law of Moses. We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy the Temple and change the customs Moses handed down to us.”

Inciting other people, whatever our reasons, to hate and sometimes harm others is definitely not of God! It is, if anything at all, from the devil. It is demonic!

In 1 John 3:15 in the Amplified Bible, we read:

Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Jesus descended heavily on such behaviour in John 8:44 when he addressed the Jewish believers, saying:

“For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Unfortunately, Christianity today (and the Church for that matter) has become so competitive that people are willing to incite others to hatred, and sometimes violence, so that they can have their way. This has alienated love in the church and replaced it with slander, back-biting, bitterness and hypocrisy. The Church (ecclesia, or body of Christ) can hardly love and protect its own these days.

Bible is telling us that anyone who hates and incites others against a brother is a murderer and a child of the devil.

It is not about being in church. It is about what you do.

*MEMORY VERSE*

Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (1 John 3:15)

*URGENT CALL*
Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!

God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
