“We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law. But if, in our effort to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have been found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! But if I build up again the very things that I once tore down, then I demonstrate that I am a transgressor.  For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,  who loved me and gave himself for me.  I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.”
(Galatians 2:15-21 NRSV)

What was Apostle Paul saying?

He was saying that although he was a Jew by law (by birthplace, parentage etc), his being a Jew became absolutely irrelevant when he encountered Christ. This is because in Christ, we are not justified by our lineage, ancestry, descent or pedigree (who our father, grandfather or forefathers are). It was our lineage that made us sinners; because we are descendants of Adam. But  now, we are dead to that law. So he said,

“It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.”

So when the ancestral curses, familiar spirits and genetic traits and illnesses come looking for family members, they find Christ in your place!

It is like breaking into a house, ostensibly to steal or cause harm. But right at the gate, you meet the powerful Lord of the house. You are immediately disarmed!

They look for us, but they find Christ; because our lives are hidden in Christ.

This is what Christ did for us when He died on the cross; that it will not be us who live any longer, but He, living through us.

When they see you, they see Christ!

MEMORY VERSE

“It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.”

 (Galatians 2:20)

QUESTIONS

  •      Is your life hidden with Christ in God; with Christ living through you?
  •      If He is, do you know that you don’t need any other deliverance or protection?

PRAYER TIP

Father, please help me to
understand the wholeness
and sufficiency it means
when I say, "Christ lives in me".

URGENT CALL

Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!

God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!

Do you want to make that decision today?

Please visit “The Believer’s Prayer
for guidance if you want
to make that decision.

We will be happy to hear from you through the contact information on that page, or the ones at the top of this page. Don’t delay. Make this very personal decision today!
