Sent Equipped

I noticed some feathers on the carpet under the make-shift bed I use in my home office recently; likely droppings from the feathered duvets I use quite often. I decided to vacuum them away, but I had some things on my mind I wanted to write down at the time, and got really frustrated when I didn’t find the vacuum cleaner where I had placed it. I later remembered my son had taken it to clean the Mom’s car, and I called for it.
When he brought it, I told him to vacuum the carpet, but he told me the adapter would not fit the sockets. I provided an adapter and watched him do a perfect job cleaning not just that carpet, but the rug at my desk as well. I had all the time to focus on putting my thoughts down.
Most times, the difference between getting stressed and bogged down by all the work, and getting relief and help, is simply resourcing and equipping others. Jesus used that principle a lot.
After He had resurrected, Jesus came to His disciples and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)
Jesus did not send His disciples out without equipping them. He accompanied them by the Holy Spirit, and that made a lot of difference.
Before Jesus was taken up, He told His chosen apostles not to leave Jerusalem till they received the gift the Father had promised, as He had told them before (Acts 1:4).
When they pressed Him further about freeing Israel and restoring the kingdom, He told them, among other things, that;
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)
The apostles were looking at Israel as the kingdom, and felt Jesus could do it. But Jesus was looking at the whole world as the kingdom, and knew He needed empowered men! The power came as promised(Acts 2:2-4) and led to a lot of wonders (Acts 2:7-41); empowering and emboldening the apostles to take the gospel far and wide.
Whatever task Jesus gives you, He has equipped you to carry out. The only time you fear, or feel inadequate is when you try to do it in your own strength.
Jesus never sends us without equipping us.

God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
