When you go to hospital with a disease, and get treated;  and you feel strong, and believe you are healed, do you go seeking treatment elsewhere?

I have often seen believers do all sorts of things that make me wonder whether they understand it when Bible says,

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

A lot of these things are very obvious, what we call the usual sins; and I know everyone has a list of those. But there is one I won’t call a sin, but rather a misunderstanding, but gives the enemy an opportunity to gradually draw us back into idolatry. It is the phenomenon of “Deliverance”, in all the forms it comes! Deliverance from curses, deliverance from ancestral spirits, deliverance from fornication, deliverance from failure etc. The list is very long!

Does it mean that the newness that Christ gives us is not enough? Christ is the master deliverer, the master healer, the master exorcist, and the master miracle worker! Is He not enough?

This is so bad that people today have their regular church, where they became born again, and fellowship regularly; but they also have a prophet somewhere else, that they consult on all kinds of things. Some of these prophets employ processes and practices that are unbiblical, and questionable! It is demonic, and a very subtle ploy by the enemy to draw us back into his camp!

What did Jesus Himself say?

READ John 8:31-36

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If youabide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know thetruth, andthe truth shall make you free.’

They answered Him, ‘We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, “You will be made free”?’

Jesus answered them, β€œMost assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.Anda slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”  (John 8:31-36)

Jesus told the Jews who believed Him, ‘If youabide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know thetruth, andthe truth shall make you free.’

Yesterday, we  stated that One of the truths Jesus wants us to know is that,

“As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.  (Hebrew 9:27-28)

Today, another truth Jesus wants us to know is that,

“Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.Anda slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.(John 8:34-36)

Jesus was very emphatic when He said,  “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed!” The gospels are replete with all kinds of people that He set free from disease, demons, oppression and many more.

When Nicodemus marveled at these things, Jesus told him:

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”(John 3:8)

It is a spiritual thing, but manifests in the flesh when we believe it!

Going around all kinds of pastors, prophets and miracle workers shows you don’t really believe Jesus has saved you! But He has, and you have the full package of His deliverance!

You only need to believe!

May we begin to trust the Lord when He says we are free!

MEMORY VERSE

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”(John 3:8)

QUESTIONS

1. Have you been going around seeking deliverance and other solutions ?

2. Do you know that if Jesus set you free, then you are indeed free?

PRAYER TIP

Almighty Father, please help us to know that the freedom You give is free, effective and complete.
