When Jonah decided to run away from the LORD to Tarshish, the LORD sent the wind after him; the LORD sent the captain of the ship to go wake him up when he was asleep; the LORD made sure the lots they cast fell on Jonah; the LORD made sure Jonah was questioned; The LORD made sure Jonah told them the truth; the LORD made sure the people believed Jonah’s story; the LORD made sure Jonah told the sailors exactly what they should do to him; the LORD made sure the sea became more tempestuous when they decided not to carry out Jonah’s prescription; and when they finally obeyed, the great fish was ready and the storm ceased! Later, the Ninevites, the east wind, the gourd, and the worm; each obeyed Him!

Every part of creation is capable of fulfilling God’s purposes in the way God wants them to! The inanimate creation does so mechanically by obeying natural laws which govern the physical world. The animate creation obeys Him instinctively, responding to impulses within. God is the creator of everything, and He controls them the way He wants, to obey His command and fulfill His will.

 He knows everything, owns everything and controls everything!

But man alone is given the capability of obeying God consciously and willingly, which glorifies God most fully!

READ Isaiah 43:1-7

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I gave Egypt for your ransom,
Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

Since you were precious in My sight,
You have been honored,
And I have loved you;
Therefore I will give men for you,
And people for your life.

 Fear not, for I am with you;
I will bring your descendants from the east,
And gather you from the west;

I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’
Bring My sons from afar,
And My daughters from the ends of the earth—

Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” (Isaiah 43:1-7 NKJV)

This is the God we serve. He cares for us, protects us, ransoms us, loves us, comforts us, and is always gathering us to Himself, all for His glory!

Fear Him.
