There are many who observe how evil seems to have overcome good, how injustice seems to have won over justice, and greed seems to have overwhelmed brotherly love; and ask in despair,

“Is there hope?”

A song comes to mind when I hear such questions: The late Andraé Crouch’s, The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power”, released as part of his “Rock of Ages” album in 2007. This is what it says:

“The blood that Jesus shed for me
Way back on Calvary
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power

Refrain
It reaches to the highest mountain
It flows to the lowest valley
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears
And it dries all my tears
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power

[Refrain]”

This classic comes to tell us that the blood of Jesus is still efficacious all the evil in the world notwithstanding. The power of the blood was never weakened. God said His word would not return to Him void; and that it will accomplish what it had been sent to do.

READ Isaiah 55: 10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

(Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV)

Isaiah is believed to have prophesied from 739–681 BC to a nation that had turned away from the Lord. Instead of serving the Lord with humility and offering love to their neighbors, the nation of Judah offered meaningless sacrifices in God’s temple at Jerusalem and committed injustices throughout the nation.

Today’s society reflects exactly what was happening in Judah in those times: Churches are filled and new ones are springing up every day, yet evil is increasing! We have the appearance of godliness but deny its power; we come near God with our mouth and honor God with our lips, but our hearts are far from Him! Meaningless sacrifices!

Isaiah’s prophecies centered on God’s promises of protection, deliverance, purging and restoration for His guilty and defiled covenant people, and presents an incredibly rich picture of salvation in its eternal reach and global scope.

Using metaphorical language, the prophecy compared God’s word to rain and snow that come down from heaven; and do not return back, but water the earth and make it bear fruits; to produce seeds to the sower and bread for food; and said God’s word will not return to Him empty, but will accomplish what God pleases and prosper in the purpose for which it was sent.

God’s Word, which became incarnate in Jesus Christ, speaks better things (Hebrews 12:24).

This gives us hope that whatever the situation, God’s goodness and love will ultimately win.

God has given His word, and it will accomplish what it came for. Are you spreading it?

Let us come to God, and trust His redemptive and transformative work through his Son Jesus Christ; and then go out and spread the good news.

The “Blood will never lose its power”. Please sing it with me here.

URGENT CALL

By nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God. We ultimately face the wrath of God!

But God in His mercy and love gives us a chance to reverse this trend, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God!

Do you want to make that decision today?

Please visit “The Believer’s Prayer” for guidance if you want to make that decision.
