Any Road

Teaching my 13-year old some culinary skills recently, I told him,
“The first thing to do in order to become a good cook, is to have the taste for good food!”
An adage attributed to the Cheshire Cat in Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” says,
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.”
What I told my son, and what the Cheshire Cat said, have one thing in common; that if you don’t have a clear idea of what you want, you end up anywhere.
Lately, I have seen quite a number of people postulate that there is no God, with a lot of vigor. When you ask them what happens after life here, they tell you,
“It all ends when you die.”
“Pascal’s Wager” is an argument in philosophy, presented by the seventeenth-century French philosopher, theologian, mathematician and physicist, Blaise Pascal. It posits that humans bet with their lives that God either exists or does not.
Blaise Pascal argues that a rational person should live as though God exists and seek to believe in God. If God does not actually exist, such a person will have only a finite loss (some pleasures, luxury, etc.), whereas if God does exist, he stands to receive infinite gains (as represented by eternity in Heaven) and avoid infinite losses (eternity in Hell).
I cannot agree more with Pascal, especially in light of the fact that we still don’t have a complete grasp of our universe and what it entails.
In addition to this philosophically sound argument, history tells us there is God; and the all time bestselling book, the Bible, is about God and His divine plan for mankind. And in that book, it is stated;
Pascal’s position is believed to be the basis for the insurance industry: If nothing happens, you sacrifice a premium, but if something happens, you are covered.
God’s perfect will is that we approach Him in faith. But for those that have intellectual challenges believing in God, this is a good point to start, and begin to believe in God, and His purpose for mankind
Intellectuals are good at planning. Let us not gamble with our future beyond this life.
Blaise Pascal did not, and we can too.

URGENT CALL
Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!
God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
Do you want to make that decision today?
