Snares to Songs
Views: 79
I remember a story of two mice that were kept under similar conditions of darkness in two enclosures for a long time. One of the enclosures had a small hole through which light filters in every time the sun came up. The observation was that the mouse in the enclosure with the hole outlived the one in total darkness. The conclusion drawn was that the ray of light gave the mouse that survived hope of coming out free one day, hence its survival. Hope makes a lot of difference, even in seemingly “impossible” situations.
David had a seemingly impossible situation at hand when Saul told his men to surround his house, and kill him in the morning(1 Samuel 19:11). David was living in Israel, and the head of the nation of Israel wanted his blood! It was not a simple situation.
What seemed like an impossible situation, gave birth to Psalm 59. In verses 16 and 17 of that Psalm, David wrote:
David had hope, and faith in God; and sang of God’s strength, love, protection and reliability.
God sent help from a very unlikely source; Michal, Saul’s own daughter (1 Samuel 19:12-13) who Saul had earlier given in marriage to David in order to ensnare him, and get him killed (1 Samuel 18:17-28).
God turned the snare into a song; because David trusted God, and had hope in His salvation.
As you continually put your trust in God, may He turn all the things in your life that make life seem impossible, into those that help you to see God’s possibilities.
May He turn your snares into songs.

URGENT CALL
Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!
God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
