Two “Needy” People

One remarkable story of hope in the Bible is the story of the widow of Zarephath(1 Kings 17: 7-16). Most people focus on Elijah, God’s prophet, as the major character in this story. But I see God providing the needs two people in need by bringing them together, in faith.
Elijah took a step of faith to move to Zarephath, and the widow took a step of faith to give him their last meal; and bam, there was a miracle!
We often hear people say,
“What have two people in need, to offer each other?”
If they have faith, they have enough to offer the world to anyone! Often, we don’t see our miracles because we expect them from specific places.
God is able to use anything, and anyone to His glory. Let us stop looking in specific places for His help, and rather look for His guidance.
Towards the end of Paul’s letter to the Romans, he wrote
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 15:13 NLT)
God is the source of all hope.

Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!
God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.
The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.
Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.
It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.
If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
