As a child, the first time I saw a giant dummy cheque, I wondered if the receiver was going to take that huge thing into the bank and get it cleared.

I would later get to know that it is the way cheques are presented for the cameras. The real cheque  would be presented off-camera and cleared like any other cheque. 

Every gift has the way it is received. The way you receive a laptop gift is different from the way you receive a car gift, and that is also different from the way you receive a home as a gift. You can immediately take a laptop gift home; for a car gift, you receive a key, some documents, and later drive the car away. For a home gift, you receive keys and documents, just like the car gift; but there will be a need to move into the house to take possession.

You cannot say because you have to stretch your hands to receive your laptop gift, drive your car gift away, or move into the home given to you as a gift; they cease to be gifts.

The only way the entire creation can respond to, and receive from God, is through faith.

In Hebrews 11:3, we read,

*By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.*

Further down that same chapter, we read about the faith of Abel, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and all the prophets.  

In the verse 6, we read.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Faith then, is telling God,

“I know You exist, and You give good gifts to your children.”

It is what we need to receive from God, including God’s greatest gift – Salvation.

Every soul is valuable to God, far more than the entire world! But by nature, we are all sinful, and alienated from God, and we ultimately face his wrath!

God in His mercy and love made a way for us to remedy this. He gives us a chance to reverse this downward spiral to destruction, join His family, be part of His household, and become His children.

The first step to becoming a member of God’s household is for us to be saved.

Salvation comes through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Savior.

It is a very personal decision. No one can make that decision for you.

If you make that decision today, there will be great singing and rejoicing in heaven; because one new member has joined the family and household of God! A soul, much, much more valuable than the world, has been saved from destruction!
